March Walk

1st February 2012

Very cold but as there was no frost we decided to be brave and face the elements and pleased we did. Twentyfive and one hardy dog met up at the large car park. We were all well wrapped up and we needed to be but the sun did shine to make the scenery look nice and the air was fresh. Good job the ground was still frozen as it would have been very muddy. Nice to see Dave back and thanks to Mike for leading the walk.

6th January 2012

An excellent walk today with plenty of sunshine and not too cold. Twenty-six and one dog in all. After all the rain recently it was a treat to stay on the pathways and Wellington boots were not required. Mike did a good job and tried to make the walk interesting by pointing out one or two notable features on the way.

We appreciated the rum filled chocolate at the end of what was a five mile walk.

7th December

All twentythree arrived at the car park as the sky filled in with rain but moments later the sky was once again clear blue skies. A very enjoyable walk led by Jim through mainly wooded area that was rather muddy but as we all had good footwear it was not a challenge. We ended on an unusually high point for the forest with grand views.

4th November

We all went dressed for adverse weather conditions and it turned out to be "nice for the time of year". The group photo is a bit of poetic license, you will note
Val' not playing the game! Said she was too hot?
The forest had wet surface condition but was still quite firm under foot.
Lunch at the Shoot Inn was very nice, I wouldn't be surprised if the Lunch Club finishes up there one bright day.
