“The next  U3A branch monthly walk will be on Wednesday 5th April from Standing Hat Car  Park,Brockenhurst starting at 10 am.

conditions under foot should be okay,but there will be mud in places.

 

To reach Standing Hat Car park,coming from Lyndhurst towards Brockenhurst,please turn left at Bulmer Lawn Car Park, then drive past hotel and houses,before at little bend TURN  LEFT  up wide yellow car track for about half a mile,and Standing Hat Car Park is at the top where this road ends.

please note  there is a car park on left just starting up track.IGNORE THIS ONE and carry on up to  Standing Hat Car.

walk usual distance of 2 1/2 to 3 miles and taking 1 1/2 to 2 hours to walk.

March Walk

Seven of us met at Fritham determined to walk come rain or wind ! ! It was very calm and the rain stopped 10 mins after we started to walk. Peter had adjusted the route so we didn't have to cope with any muddy stretches and were able to walk on the gravel track all the time. There were some big pools to wade through and the Forest was quite soggy.But the light reflecting from the pools of water and the rushing streams held a beauty and charm all of their own. We all thoroughly enjoyed our walk. Thank you Peter.
