26 members with Dylan and Barney set out from the Shatterford car park in fairly bright weather, but no actual sunshine (what happened to our luck?) and with no real threat of rain. This was a fairly level walk all the way round on firm, dry tracks. But at first in a somewhat chilly wind across the heath at Bishop's Dyke for some 20 minutes. But inside the woods at Denny Lodge Enclosure out of the wind it was very pleasant walking with brighter skies. We passed an open field where some 8 deer were grazing with little regard for us.
We loitered at junctions etc a little more than usual as we do in the winter, but still covered about 3.25 miles in 1 hr 50m. (Are we all getting fitter?!)
